About Us


The idea for Toni was born in summer 2016, when we created Toni, the Football Chatbot, as a buddy for football fans during the European Championships. The bot blew up and we kept developing, making Toni a soccer buddy for fans year round. In March 2017, Team Toni was accepted to Europe’s first chatbot accelerator ELEVATE. Ever since then, Team Toni is working on Toni.ai – the next step in the story of Toni – with the vision of redefining fan engagement.

In August 2017 Toni powered by LAOLA1 was launched – a new and improved version of our football (soccer) chatbot. With this version we continued raising the bar for conversational interfaces in sports and messenger marketing in the area of football.

In spring 2018 we were working with the HYPE Sports Innovation SpinLab Italy to continuously improve our product and business. Being part of the HYPE network means being part of an international network of enterprises transforming the way we experience and follow sports. 

With the Toni.ai platform we strove to enable the world’s best sports chatbots.

In September 2023, the shareholders of Toni.ai GmbH decided to dissolve the company. The website will continue to be operated by the previous main shareholder, creative workline GmbH.


Klemens Z.

Klemens is Toni’s “father” and the technical mastermind behind Toni.ai. He is usually found working on new features, at some startup event talking about Toni and all things chatbot, or doing sports himself.


Christoph E.

Christoph is the professional sportsman of the team. As a former sports manager he knows the ropes of the industry and is passionate about making life easier for clubs as well as fans.


Katharina B.

Kathi is certain that chatbots need both a personality and a business model. Fascinated by people and what drives them, she focuses on UX, and bot personality development at Toni.ai, as well as marketing.
